Jan Swanepoel
Group Risk & Compliance Executive
Jan began his career in retail in 1993 at the Edcon Group and has since built more than two decades of experience across a broad spectrum of retail businesses, including House of Busby, the JD Group (Steinhoff), and Moresport. Over this period, he specialised in executive-level risk management, developing deep expertise in governance, compliance, and operational risk.
Jan joined Outdoor Investment Holdings in 2020 as General Manager of Inyathi Sporting Supplies (now known as Stonewolf) and was promoted to Group Risk & Compliance Executive in 2025. In his current role, he leads the group’s risk management and compliance function, ensuring robust frameworks and disciplined oversight across all OIH businesses.
A competitive shooter with national colours in F-Class Bisley shooting and a keen extreme long-range shooter, Jan brings valuable insight into the shooting community, strengthening OIH’s alignment with responsible practice and industry standards.
